How it works

Clean bins in four easy steps

Pick Friday afternoon (right after the truck) or a weekend time. Your carts don't need to be empty.

1

Write or click

Phone or text us, fillFill in our paper sign-up form, book online, or email us. Whatever is easiest for you.

2

Leave bins out

Just leave your carts out front of your home (where the truck picks them up) on your cleaning day. They don't need to be empty, and you don't need to be home.

3

We scrub

We scrape, scrub, rinse and deodorize inside and out, then roll them back to where you keep them.

4

Pay your way

Pay with cash or check after the job is done, or pay online by card.

Every clean includes

Inside, outside, lid and handles

  • Scrape out stuck-on gunk and bag it as trash
  • Scrub the inside walls and bottom with eco-friendly soap
  • Scrub the lid, handle and outside where hands touch
  • Rinse with a water-saving shut-off nozzle
  • Deodorize with baking soda so it stays fresh longer
  • Tip upside down to drain, then roll back to where you keep them
  • "After" photo texted to you (if you'd like one)

Water-wise and Bay-friendly

We scrub from a bucket and rinse with a hose nozzle that shuts off, about 5โ€“7 gallons per bin (roughly a 3-minute shower). Rinse water goes only onto landscaping our community allows, never into the street. We keep it out of the gutter and storm drain, because storm drains flow straight to our creeks and the Bay.

We ask to use your outside faucet. If you'd rather we bring our own water, just say so in your booking.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be home?
Nope. Just leave your carts out front of your home (where the truck picks them up) and we'll take it from there. Carts too heavy to move? Tell us where they are, or add Curb Valet and we'll do the rolling for you. We never need to come inside, and we'll put the bins back where you keep them (tell us where in your booking).
Can I sign up without a computer?
Yes! Most of our neighbors do. Call or text us, or askJust ask the crew for a paper sign-up form and leave it in your door for us to pick up. Family members are welcome to book for you too.
How do I know who you are?
We're three kids from a local family, and a grown-up, our parent, is with us on every job. We never ask for bank details, we never need to come inside, and you pay after the job is done. Call usEmail us any time with questions.
When do you come?
On Friday afternoons right after the trash truck, and on weekends: Fridays 3:15 pm โ€“ 5:45 pm, Saturdays 9:30 am โ€“ 12:30 pm, Sundays 1:00 pm โ€“ 4:00 pm. From November to February the Friday shift is shorter (Fridays 3:15 pm โ€“ 4:45 pm) so the crew is always done before dark. You pick the day when you book. Monthly customers keep the same day every month, like "the 2nd Saturday."
Is a grown-up with you?
Yes. A parent supervises every job and is the contact for bookings and payments. Our crew always works together, never alone.
Do you use my water?
We ask to borrow your outside faucet. With a bucket and a shut-off nozzle, a full set of three bins uses about 15โ€“20 gallons. If you'd rather we bring water from home, just note it when you book.
Where does the dirty water go?
Onto grass or landscaping that slopes away from the street, where it soaks in. We keep it out of the gutter and storm drain. Solid gunk gets scooped into a tied bag that goes in your garbage bin, ready for next week's pickup.
What do you clean with?
Biodegradable, plant-based soap, scrub brushes and baking soda to deodorize. No bleach, so it's safe for kids, pets and your garden.
My bin is REALLY gross. Will you still do it?
Yes! First cleans are often the worst. If a bin has maggots or something hazardous (like broken glass, needles, chemicals or dead animals), a grown-up handles it or we'll check with you first.
Do my bins need to be empty?
No. We lift bagged trash and loose recycling onto a clean tarp, clean the bin, and put everything back. If a bin is more than about half full or has loose food scraps in it, we skip that one (no charge) and text you. Very full or smelly carts clean best on a Friday, right after pickup.
What if it rains?
We don't clean in the rain (soapy water would run off). We'll call or text you and move you to the next open cleaning day at no extra cost. Monthly customers never lose a month: a skipped visit becomes a make-up visit.
How do I pay?
Pay online by card when you book (secure checkout by Stripe; monthly plans renew automatically), or pay after the job with cash or a check. Monthly customers can pay by check once a month, and we're happy to give paper receipts. One $5 discount per new customer (grand opening or referral, not both).
Is there ever an extra charge?
Only for a first clean that's extremely dirty (think caked-on food that's been there for months). If we think a bin needs more than our normal clean, we'll text you before starting and ask about a $10 extra-dirty fee. You can always say no.
What about holidays and vacations?
If we ever skip a cleaning day, we call or text you first. Monthly customers get a make-up visit (or that month back), and Curb Valet customers get a grown-up covering for us or a credit for that week.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Of course. Let us know at least a day ahead to reschedule. Monthly plans can be cancelled any time; we'll stop the next month's charge.
Do you clean other things?
Right now just garbage, recycling and compost bins (and rolling them to the curb with Curb Valet). Ask us, though. We like new ideas!
