Service terms and privacy
Plain-language terms for a kid-run neighborhood business. Fresh Bin Kids is run by kids with a parent (our parent) who supervises the work and handles bookings and payments.
What we do
We clean the inside and outside of residential garbage, recycling and compost carts: scraping out residue, scrubbing with biodegradable soap, rinsing, deodorizing with baking soda and returning the bins to where you keep them. Curb Valet customers also get their bins rolled to the curb before pickup and back afterward each week.
Scheduling
- On your cleaning day, please leave your carts out front of your home (where the truck picks them up). Bins don't need to be empty: we lift bagged trash and loose recycling onto a clean tarp and put everything back after cleaning.
- For the crew's safety, we skip any bin that is more than about half full, has loose food scraps, or holds a bag that's too heavy or leaking. There's no charge for a skipped bin, and we'll call or text you to set up a Friday visit right after pickup.
- We don't clean in the rain or after dark. If the weather is bad or we can't make it, we'll call or text you and move you to the next open cleaning day at no extra cost. Monthly customers get a make-up visit for any skipped month, or that month's payment back.
- Please text or email at least 24 hours ahead to reschedule or cancel a visit.
- Monthly plans repeat on the same day each month (for example, "the 2nd Saturday"). You can cancel any time; if you pay online, we'll cancel your subscription before the next charge.
Water and the environment
With your permission we use your outside faucet; a full set of three bins uses about 15–20 gallons thanks to a shut-off nozzle and buckets. We keep rinse water out of the street, gutter and storm drain: it goes onto grass or landscaping that slopes away from the street. Solid residue is bagged and placed in your garbage bin for the next pickup. We don't clean in the rain.
Things we won't handle
For safety, the kids won't touch needles, broken glass, chemicals, dead animals, or anything that looks dangerous. A grown-up will check with you first. Bins with large amounts of stuck-on residue may need a second visit.
Payment
- Prices are listed on our website. You can pay online when you book, or pay after the job. Monthly plans paid online renew automatically each month from the day you sign up. The grand opening and referral discounts are for a new customer's first clean, one discount per customer.
- Online card payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- You can also pay with cash or check, or a payment app if listed.
- Not happy with a clean? Tell us within 2 days and we'll come back and redo it for free.
Care and responsibility
We treat your bins and property with care. Bins are owned by the city's hauler; we don't repair or replace damaged or worn-out bins. If we notice a cracked bin or broken wheel, we'll let you know so you can request a replacement from your hauler.
Privacy
- We collect only what we need to do the job: your name, address, phone, email and notes about your bins.
- We use it to schedule, confirm, text you when we're done, and send receipts. We never sell or share it.
- Booking details are stored in our family's private email or spreadsheet. Card payments are handled by Stripe under Stripe's privacy policy.
- We photograph your bins before and after cleaning for our records (never people or the inside of your home). We text you the "after" photo if you ask. We never post a photo that shows your house or address without your permission.
- To have your information deleted, just email us.
